The Best Android Unlocked Cell Phones

The Best Android Unlocked Cell Phones

Even with the abundance of high quality Cheap Unlocked Cell Phones in the market these days, still is difficult to pin down the best Android phones available. Mostly because most of their functions seem to overlap, as most of them are running the same Android apps. However, there are certain standards that will always trump all others: features, performance, price, and form factor seems to be constants across the board on all phone standards whatever the model, make or year they were made.

We’ve applied these four standards to the slew of android cell phones available right now in the market, and have pegged three notable Android models that might just impress the picky buyer.

T-Mobile G2x

The T-Mobile G2x is almost identical to the LG Optimus 2x, and although Cheap Unlocked Cell Phones abound in the international market, this iteration of the LG Optimus is carried by default by the T-Mobile network and runs on pure Android from the onset (instead of having the proprietary LG interface on top of the Android); it runs on a 1GHz NVIDIA dual-core processor, and support the T-Mobile’s HSPA network. This is also T-mobiles first Android phone that isn’t manufactured by HTC (recalling the big hits that G1 and G2 were to the network’s subscribers).

HTC Evo Shift 4G

The Evo Shift from Sprint comes with an 800MHz processor—a tad lesser than most other high-end smartphones running on Android 2.2. Its screen real estate is likewise smaller: 3.7 inches compared to the more robust 4 or 3.8 inches of screen space. It does however come with a pull-out keyboard and can run on 4G networks—ideal for faster web browsing experience. Though the screen size is smaller, it sacrifices none of the clarity: pictures and media still come on clear in its 800×480 pixel resolution. Best of all, it has a cheaper price tag compared to its contemporaries and can be used as a mobile hotspot—which will elicit more hurrahs from your mobile-packed friends.

Motorola Atrix 4G

Motorola Atrix 4G from AT&T is Sprint’s answer to the Android Wars (or at least one of their answers). The Atrix 4G comes with NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 chipset dual core processor, a full 4 inch screen and 4g support, as well. A front facing camera makes it a delight to use for video calls. It also has fingerprint recognition on the back of the unit. What sets the Atrix apart from the competitor is that it is marketed under a ‘WebTop’ functionality, which means it can act as a cross between a net top and a smartphone, and additional accessories such as a wireless keyboard, mouse and docks are available in the market.

All three of these Android phones are representative of good quality models from their providers, and comes with their pros and cons that, when compare them to each other, seems to balance out.  The Android OS is a great “equalizer” in the sense that what application one phone can run, chances are the other can run it as well.

In which case, the only cons here is the very restrictive contracts and plans that their respective carriers have. Thankfully, Cheap Unlocked Cell Phones abound nowadays giving one the freedom from restrictive (and expensive) plans that lock you in for two years or so.
